A city police investigation into drug trafficking has led to the seizure of several firearms.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Gertrude Avenue on August 29, as part of an ongoing investigation.

Outside of the building officers located and arrested a suspect.

The suspect was in possession of suspected crack cocaine and a knife.

During a search of the home, officers found multiple firearms and ammunition including a shotgun, rifle, two handguns, and a concealable sing-fire handgun.

As a result, a 20-year-old Hamilton resident is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Careless storage of a firearm x5
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm x2
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm x4
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm x2
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition x4
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition x5
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order x6
  • Breach of probation

The accused appeared in court and remains in custody with another future court date.
