Lakehead University (LU) is again represented in Maclean’s University Rankings.
LU ranked second overall in Ontario among universities in its category, and eighth out of 19 primarily undergraduate universities across the country.

This year Maclean’s placed Lakehead tied for first in Ontario in terms of faculty awards, total library acquisitions, and tied for first in student awards.
Other categories LU ranked highly in include library expenses, student/faculty ratio, total research dollars, and reputation.
It was also found that the school has the lowest class sizes in first and second year classes among all Ontario universities.
