A return of a holiday favourite in Thunder Bay.

The Parade of Lights has been given the thumbs up for 2021 from both the Ministry of Health and Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

Organizers were forced to scrap the 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have certain aspects that we have to follow, including social distancing and wearing a mask,” explained Chair Greg Stephenson. “There’s certainly a lot of room to spread out along the parade route, even though there are pockets that people tend to congregate at.”

The parade raises fund for:

Special Olympics Ontario, Thunder Bay
Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association
Autism Ontario, Thunder Bay and District
George Jeffrey Children’s Centre

It’ll happen Saturday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m. with the starting point at Manitoulin Transport on Main Street.
