An investigation is underway after Thunder Bay Police Service Officers were dispatched Saturday to a weapons incident.

They arrived to the May Street South area to find that there was a shooting that injured a man from the Niagara region. Superior North EMS Paramedics took him to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, his injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Members from the Major Case Unit are now involved in the investigation, and a police presence will remain in the area until further notice.

The investigation remains ongoing and there have been no arrests made at this time.
