It could cost you a little less going across the harbour in the near future, with the province looking into getting rid of the bridge tolls.
Premier Tim Houston told reporters Thursday more details will be released in the upcoming spring budget.
Scrapping the toll booths was part of Houston’s campaign promise.
Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) told us last month, it was the reason they postponed getting rid of the hardshell MACPASS.
HHB had intended on switching permanently to the sticker by this year, but that was put on hold while discussions take place.
Meanwhile, Public Works Minister Fred Tilley said safety is a concern if the toll booths would come down.
“As the lanes entering in and the speed at which people will approach that area.”
Tilley said he did not want to speculate what would be in the upcoming report.
