Doug Ford is expected to announce today that minimum wage is going to make another jump. $15 could be the new Ontario standard for regular workers who don’t receive tips or gratuities.

The Premier froze minimum wage at $14 shortly after he was elected in 2018. However, it did grow by a quarter in October.

The jump is expected to take effect in the new year. Current minimum in Ontario is $14.35/hr.

The current living wage for Thunder Bay is estimated at $16.30/hr according to Ontario Living Wage Network.
