The QEII’s emergency department in Halifax is closed after a weapons complaint.

It remains open to those with life-threatening emergencies.

Halifax Regional Police say they got a call around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

They say one person is in custody and there’s currently no threat to public safety.

The QEII calls it a security incident.
