A watermain break has shut down a section of Hickey Road in east Saint John to through traffic.

City officials said Wednesday afternoon the closure extends from Bruce Lane to Simonds High School.

“Crews are working diligently to repair the watermain that has caused localized flooding on the roads,” the city said in a statement.

Municipal water customers in the area of Hickey Road and Heather Way may experience reduced water pressure as a result.

The city said public updates will be communicated as needed through its social media accounts.
