Ontarians have begun casting their ballots in the province’s 44th general election.

Polls across the province’s 124 electoral districts opened at 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT.

Around 11 million residents are eligible to cast a ballot, according to Elections Ontario.

When heading to the polling station, you should bring your voter information card and one piece of ID with your name.

If you do not have a voter information card, officials suggest bringing ID that has your name and home address.

Nearly 679,000 residents cast their ballots during advance polls, accounting for just over six per cent of eligible voters.

Completed mail-in voting kits must be received by Elections Ontario no later than 6 p.m. ET.
