Provincial police were forced to deploy a spike belt to stop a vehicle that failed to stop at Canada customs in Rainy River.

The incident happened early Sunday morning.

Officers spotted the vehicle travelling on Highway 11 but were unable to stop it, requiring the need for the spike belt.

After crossing over the belt, the vehicle drove into a driveway in the Emo area where the 26-year-old driver was taken into custody.

The man from Badger, Minnesota, made a brief court appearance on Sunday.
