A Buy Canada resolution will be on the table at tonight’s Fort Frances council meeting.

The resolution is from the town of Parry Sound

It asks municipalities to endorse provincial and federal calls to action to buy Canadian in light of the trade war with the U.S.

It also seeks measures that allow municipalities to give Canadian firms preferential treatment when it comes to local projects.

Premier Ford asked municipalities last week to consider following Ontario’s lead after announcing plans to deny American firms from bidding on provincial projects.
