Emergency crews are on scene Wednesday morning for a gas leak in Halifax.

Police say it is near Bayers Road and Oxford Street.

Bayers Road from Windsor Street to Connolly Street is closed as well as Oxford Street from Liverpool Street to Edgewood Avenue.

Police are asking you to avoid the area.

Meantime, Eastward Energy says the leak has been contained but they will remain on site to repair the damage.
