A new deputy mayor for Moncton city council.

With the recent resignation of Dawn Arnold, Councillor Paulette Theriault has moved into the mayoral chair.

She was named the deputy mayor for a one year term in May, but with her appointment, that left a vacancy.

There was a unanimous vote on Monday night for Shawn Crossman to act in the role until another deputy mayor is named in May 2025.

He previously held the title from May 2023 to May 2024.
