Halifax Regional Police are investigating a shooting and have issued an update regarding the Armdale Roundabout.

In a social media post shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday, they asked people to avoid the area.

As of 9 a.m., police say St. Margarets Bay Road from Fenerty Road to the Armdale Roundabout remains closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

All other entrances into the Armdale Roundabout are open.

Police report that at about 5:30 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 200-300 block of St Margarets Bay Road where a man was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police ask the public to remain out of the area to allow officers to conduct the investigation. Investigators believe this was not a random incident and there is not a broad threat to the general public.
