A 43-year-old Thunder Bay woman is the latest apprehended in what police are calling an historic human trafficking case.
The third accused in the ongoing investigation that began in May 2021 faces three charges of Procuring, as well as a charge of Sexual Exploitation and Living On Avails of Prostitution Under 18.
The Human Trafficking Unit started their work after learning about incidents that occurred between 1998 and 2000.
Police later identified a victim, who they learned was forced into prostitution at the age of 14, and incidents of human trafficking continued for about two years.
A 63-year-old woman, also from Thunder Bay, appeared in bail court in October to face the same charges.
A 52-year-old man of Girvin, Saskatchewan faces an additional charge of Assault with a Weapon. He was remanded into custody after his bail appearance on November 18.
