Thousands of New Brunswick residents will be heading to the polls on Monday.

Municipal byelections are taking place for seven local governments in the province.

There are a total of nine vacancies that need to be filled, according to Elections NB.

  • Arcadia: mayor
  • Fundy Albert: mayor and one Ward 1 councillor
  • Hartland: one Ward 2 councillor
  • Lakeland Ridges: one Ward 4 councillor
  • Memramcook: one councillor-at-large
  • Miramichi: two councillors-at-large
  • Miramichi River Valley: one councillor-at-large

Candidates were elected by acclamation in Belle-Baie, Miramichi River Valley and Sunbury-York South.

Meanwhile, vacancies remain in the local governments of Campobello Island and Tracy. They will be included in the local government elections in May 2026.
