A 22-year-old is facing multiple charges following a late-night robbery attempt.

Officers were sent to Arthur Street West on Wednesday around 1:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a weapons incident.

Officers spoke to the complainant and learned that he and another individual were speaking outside a business when they were approached by a male.

The suspect threatened the complainants, claiming to have a weapon, and demanded their wallets.

During the altercation, the complainants were able to get away and call 911.

A suspect matching a description given to police was later located and arrested.

As a result, a 22-year-old is facing the following charges:

• Robbery
• Uttering threats
• Failure to comply with a probation order

The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and they were released from custody with a future court date.
