New Brunswick marked wildfire season with its first burn ban last week.

Warm and dry weather lead to a total ban for most of the province on Thursday.

The seasonal fire watch typically runs from the third Monday of April until the end of October.

But according to a social media post from the Musquash Fire Department, crews have been responding to grass fires since early April.

They say you should have a bucket of water nearby anytime you burn grass or start a bonfire.

The government updates burn restrictions on their website every day at 2 p.m. You can check out the interactive map here.
