Two more Lakehead Public Schools are reporting new COVID-19 cases.

Hammarskjold High School is adding an additional case, while Superior CVI is also noting one new infection.

Lakehead Public Schools is currently working with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) to investigate and manage any potential exposures in the schools.

Under the updated health guidance, the TBDHU is identifying anyone who would be considered a contact of the individuals that have contracted the virus. Along with this, parents or caregivers of students in impacted cohorts will be directly contacted by public health with further instructions.

Teachers, staff, visitors or any others who could be impacted are also being directly contacted.

Additional measures will be taken to manage the situation, and an investigation will occur over the next few days.

The TBDHU and Lakehead Public Schools are encouraging all who are eligible to get fully vaccinated.
