Another municipality in northwestern Ontario has put a fire ban in place.

All burning permits have been suspended in Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls and all open-air burning is not permitted, including campfires.

The municipality says the ban is due to the extremely dry conditions and the current hot and windy weather.

Meanwhile, the fire hazard in the Kenora District is extreme.

The latest fire was reported this afternoon just west of Minaki near Pistol Lake.

It has already grown to 5 hectares in size.
