A man is facing charges after barricading himself inside a home in Timberlea armed with a knife.

RCMP say it happened shortly after midnight, Sunday on Lakehigh Cres.

The man got in the front door and threatened to harm himself.

A 33-year-old woman, who was in the home, asked him to leave, but he refused.

After about three hours of communicating with the RCMP Crisis Negotiation Team, the man was arrested.

The woman and three children who were in the home at the time, were not hurt.

The man is facing two counts of Failure to Comply with a Probation Order and Mischief will appear in court Monday.
