A heartbreaking loss for Thunder Bay with the fire that destroyed the Finnish Labour Temple. The building was the heart of the Finnish community and beloved city wide.

Maybe you caught a movie as part of the Bay Street Film Festival or local stage productions like 10 by 10 like I did, or Comedy Night, or celebrations like Saint Irho.  The Hoito restaurant was a part of the Temple and it was always a treat to take the family out for their world famous pancakes.

How about Thunder Bay’s Rodney Brown who wrote a great song about the history of the Temple.
