You will be able to meet the cyclists taking part in the Terry Fox Ride of Hope in Antigonish, Tuesday evening.

The annual ride, which is entering its 11th year, started as a 350km trip before evolving into a cross-Canada journey this year, which marks the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.

Fox’s brother Darrell organizes the ride and is participating alongside seven other cyclists.

The team started their journey in Vancouver on June 9, with a goal of biking 220 kilometres a day.

There will be a warm welcome hosted by the Town and County Council with a meet and greet around 7 p.m., at the Antigonish Arena – the arrival time depends on how fast the riders can travel from Prince Edward Island.

The Town encourages everyone to come out to support those taking part in the ride by taking photos and sharing stories.

Councillors have arranged a home cooked meal for the cyclists before they head toward Whycocomaugh, then Newfoundland, July 10.
