A forest fire has cut of part of the community Red Lake.

A wildfire has closed a section of Highway 125 from Balmertown into Cochenour.

The airport and McKenzie Island are also cut off as a result.

Currently there are 28 forest fires burning in the Red Lake District and the fire hazard is in the extreme range.
