Halifax Regional Police have cleared the scene of a serious incident on Gottingen Street that sent one person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the 2000 block late Thursday night after receiving a report of a weapon complaint. An adult victim was found at the scene and transported to hospital for emergency treatment.

Police temporarily closed the area to investigate but have since confirmed the scene has been cleared.

No arrests have been announced, and police have not released details about the type of weapon involved.
