A search is underway for a man missing in the waters near the Pointe-du-Chene wharf.

Luc Bourgeois left in a kayak to go fishing on Thursday, but didn’t return.

Family and friends became concerned hours later and started the search.

Updated posts on social media this morning state that his kayak, life jacket and phone were found just kilometres away from the Caissie Cape Wharf, but there were no signs of Bourgeois, his fishing bucket, rod, sandals, or swimsuit.

They’re asking anyone who can help to keep an eye on nearby beaches or wooded shorelines.

RCMP and Search and Rescue are also involved in the hunt.
