The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) is set to host Silver Harbour Day.

The event is taking place at the Silver Harbour Conservation Area.

The free event is offering a day of activities and education.

The following activities are planned:

• Canadian Coast Guard search and rescue vessel Cape Chaillon is scheduled to be there (Subject to search and rescue responsibilities)
• Disc golf demonstration
• Scuba diving information from Thunder Country Diving
• Interactive activities run by the Municipality of Shuniah
• Information about the geology of the harbour
• Interactive activities run by the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the LRCA
• Shuniah Fire and Rescue fundraising barbeque
• Mermaid face painting

The conservation area noted that there will be limited boat launch access at the conservation area during the event.

The action is getting underway at 10:00 a.m. running through 3:00 p.m.
