Tell Me Something Good!

Her name is JEN POWL. You’ll most likely hear a lot about this story this weekend. AND, for good reason.

Jen is set to become the first woman to umpire in MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL.  She’ll be working the games between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves this weekend!  Jen is 48 years old, from New Jersey.  She did work some Spring Training games this past year and last year, but now……..it’s official.

L.A Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts said, “baseball’s done a great job of becoming completely inclusive……I’ll be watching….it’s good for the game”!

This comes 28 years after the gender barrier for game officials was broken in the NBA; 10 years after the NFL hired its first full-time woman official.  The NHL still hasn’t had any women on-ice officials.

Keep an eye out for JEN POWL making history this weekend! AWESOME!!!
