One person has been arrested after a scallop fishing seizure worth about $1.1 million in southwestern Nova Scotia.
DFO says officers in the Barrington area detected the vessel on Tuesday.
An offshore surveillance flight confirmed the illegal fishing in closed Scallop Fishing Area 29 D.
Officers arrested one individual for violations under the Fisheries Act and seized more than 22,600 kilograms of scallop meat.
DFO says as the matter is under investigation, no further details will be provided.
