Mounties are turning to the public to help identify two people in connection with an assault investigation in Moncton.

The incident happened at a parking lot near a business around the 2700 block of Mountain Road around 11:35 p.m. on July 12.

RCMP said a man assaulted another man before fleeing the scene in a newer-model white Mercedes-Benz C-class, which is believed to have an Ontario licence plate.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, took himself to the hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, police released surveillance footage photos of the two individuals and the vehicle involved.
