More than 80 court stenographers have a new collective agreement with the province.

The province announced the new agreement with CUPE Local 1840 on Wednesday.

“We truly value the work of these skilled and hard-working employees,” Finance Minister René Legacy said in a news release.

“It’s great to see both sides come together with a shared commitment to reach a fair and balanced agreement.”

Officials said the four-year deal includes a general wage increase of $5 per hour, retroactive to Oct. 2021.

There are also incentives and premiums to address recognition and retention issues, and increases to the transcription premium.
