It is the first day of school for Dalhousie University students, but only some will have classes.
Members of the Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA) and the university have not reached a deal.
The university locked the faculty out on August 20.
Last week, the DFA voted against arbitration and called for the university to meet at the bargaining table.
They say faculty starting their careers are struggling to afford the cost of living, and wages have fallen behind the inflation rate.
Courses taught by DFA members are suspended, but courses taught by teachers outside the group are still on. Here is a full list of the courses still happening.
