Lunenburg residents will soon have a chance to weigh in on proposed zoning changes that could reshape part of the Salt Meadows area.
The town is considering rezoning properties along Wood Street, Whynacht Street, and Adams Street from low-density residential — which allows up to two units per lot — to medium-density, which would permit as many as four units.
Parts of Wolff Avenue and Rudolf Drive are also included.
Town staff say the change would give more flexibility for housing development in an area where demand has grown in recent years.
Medium-density zoning is intended to support a wider range of housing types, including small apartment buildings, townhouses, or multi-unit dwellings, while still keeping the area primarily residential.
Residents can share their views in writing ahead of time or at a public participation meeting scheduled for September 24 at 6 p.m.
The session will be held in council chambers at Town Hall and will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those who register in advance.
