The public was asked to avoid the Mountain and Gorge Road, Frampton Lane and Briardale Drive today.

RCMP posted to social media just before 3 pm, stating that a police operation was underway.

Several police cruisers, Moncton Fire and Ambulance NB were present in the neighbourhood.

Moncton Fire was also called in to fight a fire at a home on Briardale Drive, but there’s no word on whether it is connected to the police operation.

The police operation concluded about an hour later.

RCMP say officers will remain in the area as a part of the investigation.
