Hydro One crews are continuing to respond to power outages after high winds moved across Northwest Ontario, impacting the Thunder Bay and Kenora areas.
Nearly 1,500 customers in the Thunder Bay region are without power as of 9:40 a.m. EST.
Crews continue to work on more than 20 outages in the region with restoration time estimated at 6 p.m.
Meantime, several outages east of Thunder Bay are also impacting more than 120 customers in the Longlac area and from Melgund to Struthers.
Estimated restoration is also set at 6 p.m. as crews respond.
In the Kenora area, more than 1,400 customers are without power as the region is hit with several outages.
The cause is under investigation but restoration time is set at 1 p.m.
The conditions are also affecting efforts to restore power to customers who were part of a planned outage earlier in Kenora and Fort Frances.
Hydro One reminds residents to stay clear of any fallen power lines. If a fallen line is spotted, keep at least 10 metres back, even if it does not appear to be live.
Report it to 911 and call Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235. If you are using a generator, ensure that it is outside, far from any windows or vents.
