Firefighters in Sussex are on the scene of a fire at the Irving sawmill at the edge of town Wednesday morning.

Chief Tony Reicker confirmed crews were called out at 6:15 a.m. to the area of Route 890 and Wheeler Road.

Reicker said crews found fire on a large bark pile. They worked to knock it down and remain on scene as of 9:20 a.m., assisting with hot spots.
