The restoration project for Chippewa Park is getting the backing of Ottawa.

Thunder Bay-Rainy River M-P Marcus Powlowski unveiled Wednesday $450,000, which will help erect an addition to the pavilion to house the restored C-W Parker Carousel.

The investment adds to an earlier commitment from the city of Thunder Bay to put $300,000 towards the project, which has an overall price tag of $1.6 million.
