Wordle was bought by the New York times and in an article about the purchase they alluded to the idea that they are eventually going to put a pay wall behind it. I love Wordle, it’s the first thing I do in the morning but paying for it isn’t something I’m likely to do.

But you can actually download Wordle, it’s not an app but you can still save it to your phone and it will always be free. Unfortunately your stats won’t be transferred over though.

What you have to do if you’re on an iPhone is open the webpage and hit the share button and then scroll down until you see save to home page and it’s as easy as that!
