The Royal Canadian Legion’s POPPY CAMPAIGN continues.
Tomorrow is REMEMBRANCE DAY. Every year millions and millions of Canadians wear a poppy. This is our visual pledge to honour Canada’s veterans to remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy TODAY. The Legion accepts donations in any amount. You’ll find them all around the city – corner stores / gas stations / banks / offices / stores. All the donations are held in trust and directly support Veterans and their families.
Make sure you get your poppy and wear it proudly.

Remembrance Day commemorates the end of World War 1 and yes there are several documentaries about this. As well as World War 2. There’s one that I watched last year, that caught my attention and if you have some time – you should watch it. “STORMING JUNO”. It’s a docudrama retelling the Canadian assault of Juno Beach on D-Day, as told via reenactment and through interviews with those who were there. There’s a powerful line in this documentary with a war vet saying: “We stand for 2 minutes, what did they stand for? Their whole life. We came back, we enjoyed life, had a home, had a wife and children….they didn’t. How often do we think about it. How often do we really think about our freedom”?
