Aldo Ruberto will be lighter in the pocketbook.
Council voting 6-4 in favour of a recommendation to suspend his pay for five days, which would equal $593.10 commencing with the next pay period.
Principles Integrity released the report on February 2nd (starting on Page 76) that stated Ruberto breached the Code of Conduct for comments made on a social media platform in October 2021 about an incident that was under police investigation.
Ruberto’s initial explanation was that the wind caused the incident, which was removed and replaced with a heart attack or a stroke that led to the scenario.
The Integrity Commissioner also recommended developing general social media guidance and cautions for Members of Council, including with regard to their responsibilities regarding blocking on open social media sites.
