Statistics Canada has released the data that was collected during the 2021 Census Survey.
Canada’s total population grew by 5.8 per cent; going from 35,151,728 people to 36,991,981 residents.
The City of Thunder Bay also saw an increase in residents. Just under a one percent increase in the population, which works out to 934 people living in the city. The region of Thunder Bay (unorganized) also saw an increase of about 350 people.

The fastest growing areas in Canada are Brampton, Calgary and Edmonton. Brampton topped the list with a 2.3 per cent growth rate for the area.
