Some slow traffic in parts of Halifax this morning.
One major delay is downtown because of a fire at the Halifax Armory that broke out around 5:40 a.m.
Halifax police and fire crews are on the scene.
Details are few, but more than 2400 people had their power shut off briefly. It is mostly back on as of 8 a.m., except for some in the area of the armory.
Officers have closed down the roads at the corner of the armory and the Agricola Street roundabout. That is Cunard Street from North Park Street to Maynard, and North Park Street from Nora Bernard to Cunard.
They are also rerouting traffic at the Agricola Street roundabout, which gets quite busy in the morning.
Crash near Magazine Hill
And if you are heading to the McKay bridge through Magazine Hill, your drive will be slow as well.
They say the traffic inbound at Magazine Hill is being redirected East because of a crash.
Police say a vehicle hit a power pole in the 600 block of Windmill Road. The pole broke, and electrical wires are in the road.
All inbound traffic toward Dartmouth on Windmill Road between Wright Avenue and Dundee Lane is affected, police say.
They say the traffic restrictions should be in place for several hours. Already, it is seriously backed up inbound on Windmill Road all the way to the Bedford Bypass.
