Despite being sidelined for the final Opening Day of his 18-year MLB career on Thursday, Cardinals star Adam Wainwright still managed to steal the show at Busch Stadium.

Prior to the Cardinals’ season-opening 10-9 loss to the Blue Jays, Wainwright, 41, who has said he would retire after the 2023 season, sang the national anthem.

The sold-out audience gave Wainwright a rousing standing ovation after her performance of the national anthem.
