Thunder Bay will be heating up over the weekend.
Meteorologist Steven Fliffeder says this is a result of the air from British Columbia heading east, though stresses it will not be nearly as dangerous.
“We are seeing that dome of warm air making its way across the prairies into Northwestern Ontario, so temperatures are going to be getting up into the low to mid thirties Saturday and likely into Sunday as well.”
The Meteorologist goes on to say with the heat, it is unlikely the region will get much rain this month.
“It is going to be hot, and unfortunately that does mean dry as well, at least through early July.”
Fliffeder says June was also below average in terms of precipitation.
