Big changes are coming to the bus terminals at Scotia Square that will affect dozens of bus routes and many riders.
Four bus stops will be relocated, as part of the next phase of the Cogswell District project.
According to Halifax Transit, the impacted bays include:
- Stop Barrington St After Duke St Bay 1 (6087) will be relocated to Granville St and will be renamed Stop Granville St Before Duke St Bay 1 (6087). Routes that will service this stop include: 1, 7B, 8, 9A, 9B, 10, 93, 123, 127, 135, 136, 137, 138, 158, 159, 161, 165, 168A, 168B, 182, 183, 185, 186, 194, and 196.
- Stop Barrington St Before Duke St Bay 2 (6107) will be relocated further down Barrington St, in the direction of George St, and will be renamed Stop Barrington St Before George St Bay 2 (6107). Routes that will service this stop include: 1, 2, 7A, 8, 9A, 9B, 10, 29, and 93.
- Stop Barrington St At Scotia Square Bay 3 (6108) will be relocated to Albemarle St and will be renamed Stop Albemarle St Before Duke St Bay 3 (6108). Routes that will service this stop include: 5 and 84.
- Stop Barrington St After Cogswell St Bay 4 (6105) will be relocated further down Barrington St, in the direction of Prince St, and will be renamed Stop Barrington St Before Prince St Bay (6105). Routes that will service this stop include: 123, 127, 135, 136, 137, 138, 158, 159, 161, 165, 168A, 168B, 182, 183, 185, 186, 194, and 196.
Twenty-seven routes will also undergo long-term changes to accommodate the closure, as well as minor adjustments to 24 routes.
The changes come into effect, May 20.
