Bluenose Health, a private primary care clinic led by nurse practitioners, recently expanded its operations with the opening of a new clinic in Mahone Bay. Founded by Randy Stevens, a Chester native, the clinic aims to fill the gaps in primary care services in Nova Scotia.

In response to increasing demand, Bluenose Health now offers personalized, patient-centered medical care through appointments, both in-person and via telephone. Services include managing chronic conditions, prescription refills, mental health support, and medical administrative tasks. The clinic also plans to introduce a women’s hormone replacement therapy (HRT) clinic in Halifax soon.

Operating on a subscription-based model, Bluenose Health provides two primary care service tiers: Bluenose Health Primary Care in Halifax and Bluenose Health Plus Primary Care in Mahone Bay. The latter offers direct access to a registered physiotherapist without the need for a referral.

By expanding its services to Mahone Bay, Bluenose Health continues its mission to provide accessible private primary care to Nova Scotians.

Bluenose Health also has a partnership with Screen Nova Scotia, which should complement the growing use of the South Shore as a filming venue as many sets require on-site medical staff to operate.

The Mahone Bay location can be found at 350 Main Street.
