Mounties are looking for a seven-year-old boy who they say was taken from a Moncton hotel by his mother without consent.
Andres Fernando Barbosa Rincon was last seen at a hotel on Main Street in Moncton on Wednesday.
RCMP said he was taken from the hotel by his mother, 31-year-old Raquel Rincon Ruiz, at around 2:15 p.m.
“Police and Andres’ family are concerned for his wellbeing,” Mounties said in a news release on Friday.
Raquel Rincon Ruiz is described as being approximately 5’0″ tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Ruiz, who speaks Spanish, said that her intention was to travel to the United States with her son. No vehicle or clothing description is available.
Andres Fernando Barbosa Rincon is described as being approximately 4’0″ tall, weighing about 70 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a mole on the right side of his chin and another between his eyes.
Rincon speaks Spanish and limited French. No clothing description is available at this time.
“At this time, the incident does not meet the criteria to issue an AMBER Alert message. An AMBER Alert message will be issued should there be a need,” said the RCMP release.
