A fire has started onboard the ferry crossing from Woods Harbour, Prince Edward Island to Caribou, Nova Scotia.
Staff at the Woods Harbour Terminal confirmed there’s a fire. They say it’s believed to be in the engine room of the MV Holiday Island.

RCMP and fire crews are on the wharf, while fishers on shore are getting ready to head out in their boats.
No official word on the cause of the fire or how many people are on board.
Northumberland Ferries has announced on Twitter all remaining departures are cancelled for Friday due to the emergency.
“There are no known injuries,” the statement says. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”
