Canada has won its first game at the Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals at Port Arthur Stadium.

Team Canada downed Mexico 7-2.

Other winners were Japan over Chinese Taipei 9-4 and the US blanked Venezuela 7-0.

Today the Canadians will take on Japan at 6:00 pm.

Other games will see Chinese Taipei play Venezuela at 10 am and Mexico against the US at 2:00 this afternoon.

The top two teams will play for gold on Saturday.
