In advance of Women’s History Month this October, the city archives are accepting submissions for an exhibit celebrating women who have contributed to Thunder Bay’s history.
If you know a woman whose role should be celebrated, email a submission to archives@thunderbay.ca or by mail to the City of Thunder Bay Archives, 500 Donald St. E, Thunder Bay, ON P7E 5V3.
Submissions must include a brief biography and some images to qualify.
“I encourage everyone to help us recognize a woman who has made a meaningful impact in our community,” said city archivist Christina Wakefield. “We would also like to celebrate the diversity of our city by hearing and honouring the stories of Indigenous women and women of colour who enrich our lives. Contributions can include those made in the arts, business, government, community life, diversity, or any other aspect of our city’s development.”
The online web exhibit can be viewed at www.thunderbay.ca/WomensHistoryMonth
